2. Some of the first ATVs were 6-wheeled as opposed to the more common 4-wheeleers of today.
3. Originally brake lights were not required on ATVs; it was not until 1998 that they were made a requirement.
4. At slow speeds, an ATVs rear wheels will move in the opposite direction of the front wheels. Thus making it easier for parking and maneuvering.
5. It is illegal to operate ATVs with snorkels for deep-water crossings in Minnesota.
6. The first modern four +wheeler ATV was released by Suzuki in 1983.
7. The ignition kill switch on ATVS is set by industry standards to be on the left side of the handlebars, but on the right side for snowmobiles.
8. In 1986 Honda released the FourTrax TRX350 4×4 that ushered in the era of popular four wheeler drive ATVs.
9. By the early 90’s people began to realize that ATVs make great work vehicles, and they began to show up on farms and orchards alike.
10. The Honda Rubicon was the first production ATV with built-in GPS.
11. In Israel, ATVs are referred to as Polaris ATV Similarly to how people in the United States call all types of lip balm “Chapstick,” and all types of cotton swaps “Q-Tips.”
12. Honda made the first three wheeler ATVs in 1970, which were famously portrayed in the James Bond movie, “Diamonds Are Forever”.
13. Engine size on ATVs has little to do with trail damage, but this is what many Natural Resources Departments limit with a view to reducing trail damage.
14. The two largest ATV battery manufacturers, Yuasa and DEKA, have their main United States facilities only 20 miles apart in Pennsylvania.
15. Nearly every youth ATV sold in the US is made in Taiwan or China regardless of brand name.

Class A Motor Home
This type of RV is a motorized vehicle that looks similar to a tour bus or greyhound bus. Class A MHs do not typically sleep as many people as a class C MH. They also cost a bit more due to the enhanced suspension, wider chassis, overall amenities and generally better construction.
Class B Motor Home
A class B motor home is a vehicle that is actually built on a stock van chassis and body, but with a raised roof. These units are very small and manueverable - much like a standard van - but can hardly sleep more than two people comfortably. A class B+ vehicle is based upon the van chassis concept, but has a much wider body on it that makes it look less van-like and more like a class C motor home, but it’s not. The B+ motor home does not have a bed above the cockpit, like the class C; you will usually find an entertainment center and storage instead.
Class c Motor Home
This type of RV is a motorized vehicle that is similar to driving a large pickup truck, but with a wide body and a “cab over” space above the cockpit containing a large bed or entertainment center. A class C RV normally sleeps more people than a class A motor home.
Fifth Wheel
This type of RV is pulled behind a truck with a 5th wheel hitch installed in the bed of the pickup to be able to pull it. Another option for those with a gooseneck ball in the bed of their truck is to pull the FW using a gooseneck adaptor. FWs have a much taller ceiling height versus the typical travel trailer and they tend to pull easier since the weight is sitting right above the rear axle of the towing vehicle instead of on the bumper of the truck. The down side is you have a much taller trailer being pulled behind you.
Travel Trailer
This type of RV can be pulled behind a car, truck or SUV. This is pulled using either a ball, preferably using a 2″x2″ class III receiver hitch mounted to the vehicle’s frame. The class III hitch configuration is the best and most stable application versus a ball mounted on a bumper. A travel trailer has a lower ceiling height than a FW. I costs less and weighs less too. You’re not giving up anything in amenities just overall cost and headroom.

Collecting antique cars is a pleasure. But one of the most frustrating things is trying to figure out just what a particular car is worth.
Every year more become classified as antique or collector cars. With so many antique cars on the market these days, it’s getting harder and harder to keep track of market prices. Luckily there are a number of guidelines you can follow to come up with a fair price for a classic automobile.
Antique car prices are determined by a number of factors, but the most important one is supply and demand. The more popular a car is and the less of them that are on the road, the greater its market value. Forget about how much the car sold for originally. Forget about how much money has been put into restoring a car. None of that matters. How popular is the car and how many are there? That’s the most important question of all to ask.
So how can you determine supply and demand? Where can you find a price list for antique cars? If you want to buy a used car, you can go to the Kelley Blue Book, the standard authority for used car prices in the country. Is there something similar for classic cars for sale.
Fortunately there is. The Gold Book has been around for nearly 40 years, and similarly to Kelley’s Blue Book, it is the defacto standard for antique and classic car prices. They not only monitor auctions all over the U.S. but also monitor private transactions between individuals - as long as they can be verified. They also have a web site where you can use there on-line search tool to find the sold prices for thousands of antique makes and models. This can give you a good baseline as to what others think the car is worth.
What is the condition of the car. This is not as much of a factor as supply and demand but it is nevertheless an important factor. First off, you can ignore the odometer readings. Many antique cars, especially those that have had significant restoration work done on them, have simply had their odometers rolled back to zero. Unless you’re a mechanic yourself, bring one along to evaluate the physical condition of the car. Listen to the engine, check the wiring, inspect the engine mount and ignition systems, take it out for a test run. Any problems will normally cause the evaluation price to be adjusted downwards.
Has a celebrity owned the car? Celebrity ownership raises the price of everything. That the bid price of a piece of chewing gum spit out by Britney Spears reached $14,000, tells you what celebrity ownership can do to the price of a classic car. If you are buying a classic car from someone who claims it was owned by a celebrity, be sure to get some sort of document of authenticity - as there is no shortage of shysters willing to take your money.
And lastly, keep in mind that collecting antique cars usually turns into a lifetime hobby. You’ll no doubt meet fellow collectors at future auctions and events that can give you further advice about not only valuating antique cars but also can help you find some really great deals.

Motorcycles are two-wheeled vehicles that are powered by an engine and are used for everyday travel as well as off-road activities. In some parts of the world motorcycles are the least expensive automobile to purchase and are the most widespread form of transport. Motorcycles are extremely popular throughout Europe. Motorcycles are also used in racing, long distance travel, cruising and weaving in and out of congested areas. Motorcycles are small enough to drive them in between two lanes of cars without clipping any of them and small enough to drive them down narrow alleyways.
The very first motorcycle was invented in 1885 by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach, two German inventors. The first motorcycle built in the United States came in 1867 by Howard Roper of Roxbury, Massachusetts. The first motorcycle available for purchase was the Hildebrand and Wolfmuller in 1894. Prior to 1920, the largest manufacturer of motorcycles was an Indian company, producing over 20,000 bikes per year. But in 1920 Harley-Davidson took over the top spot and began selling motorcycles in 67 countries worldwide. The leaders in manufacturing motorcycles today are the Japanese companies of Kawasaki motorcycles, Suzuki motorcycles, Honda and Yamaha motorcycles.
As mentioned earlier, motorcycles are popular throughout Europe and are most known as scooters. The world’s largest manufacturer of scooters is an Italian company called The Piaggio Group.
Motorcycles, like an ATV, have safety concerns. Motorcycles have a higher rate of fatal accidents than regular automobiles do. Motorcycles are prone to tipping and rolling over, which leads to serious injury and sometimes even death. The main cause of motorcycle accidents, aside from the roll over aspect, is that other automobiles tend to ignore motorcycles and their rights as members of the driving force. To reduce the number of motorcycle accidents in the United States, there are motorcycle safety classes offered by non-profit organizations and state agencies. These courses are designed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. These courses include a basic rider course, an intermediate rider course and an advanced rider course.
There are four types of off-road motorcycles in production today. They are the motocross, supermotos, trials motorcycles and track racing machines. These bikes are used for off-road competitions and even indoor racing on smaller tracks. Other motocross bicycles are known as ‘dirt bikes.’ ‘Dirt bikes’ are used to ride through the woods in muddy conditions so the tires have more traction.
Most states within the United States require motorcycle drivers to pass not only written tests but also driving tests as well. Most states do accept a rider passing one of the courses offered by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation in lieu of a written test and another test driving the vehicle. Aside from the scooter, other types of motorcycles for sale are the moped, the vespa, motorized tricycles and sidecar motorcycles. Motorcycles are known for good fuel efficiency but have been criticized for the amount of pollution they send into the air. For every mile driven a motorcycle produces 10 to 20 times more pollution than a new car.

Several midsize owners are now shifting to bigger models. In addition, a significant number of which stays with same car manufacturer. With this apparent condition, automotive analysts are advising automakers to invest more on midsize pickups.
J.D. Power and Associates, an auto research firm said: midsize pickup trucks are one of two segments in the automotive industry that reliably funnel consumers into predictable — and more lucrative — models later. The other so-called feeder category is compact cars.
It has also been found out by the firm that midsize pickups such as Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado truck contribute significantly to boost the sales of bigger models. Tom Libby, senior director of industry analysis for J.D. Power’s Power Information Network noted, “Almost every third midsize pickup owner trades that vehicle in for a large pickup. About 31 percent of consumers who trade in a midsize pickup buy a large pickup, Libby reports. Another 28 percent trade the vehicle in for another midsize pickup.”
Toyota Tacoma, a compact pickup truck, is the replacement of Stout. Toyota truck parts were radically updated. The new version incorporated new suspension, body, frame and engines. Consequently, truck parts Chevy incorporated new generation engines that include 2.9 L LLV I4 and 3.7 L LLR, to improve the performance of Colorado.
“Tacoma is now No. 1 in that midsize segment,” Libby said. “This is good for Toyota. It has developed this pool of consumers that, based on history, will go to a full-size pickup. Toyota is building a very likely funnel of buyers.” Additionally, just more 40 percent of Tacoma buyers trade the vehicle for another pickup - 28 percent of Tacoma buyers trade the pickup for another Tacoma while 12.3 percent trade them in for Tundra.
Chevy Colorado is the second in the line for brand loyalty. It has 36.3 percent of buyers who trade in a Colorado for another Chevy pickup - 22.6 percent purchase Silverado while 13.7 percent purchase another Colorado. Ford truck retains 31.5 percent, Nissan truck, 26.9 percent, and Dodge truck with 25.3 percent.

As one of the first ever production all-terrain vehicles, Honda ATVs has a long and high standard history. It all began back in 1967 when a bunch of Honda engineers, led by Osamu Takeuchi, worked long and hard to give the general public a unique recreational vehicle that is not similar in any way to any other vehicles produced at that time. This was how the US90 was manufactured.
Developing the idea for a Honda ATV involved a number of components, wherein the group of engineers considered building a two-, four- and six-wheeled configuration. However, the group decided on a three-wheel ATV by Honda because it was built with the most compatible features to provide the vehicle’s intended function.
The US90 was the first Honda ATV in world. It featured seven horsepower through a dual range, 4-speed gearbox and automatic clutch at around $600 per vehicle. This 1970 model was mainly used by farmers because of its fat tire and capability of riding through sand and snow. However, by the end of 1970s, people started using the earlier Honda ATV models for recreational purposes.
The Popularity Of Honda ATVs
At the start of 1980s, both utility ATV and sports ATV had a major boom in the market. Farmers are still using the utility models by this time. One of the most popular Honda ATV utility models is the 1980 ATC185, which featured 25-inche tires, 5-speed transmission and automatic clutch with a powerful 180cc, 4-stroke engine.
When all-terrain vehicles began to be used in sports, Honda released the 1982 ATC200E (also known as the “Big Red”). It was a powerful vehicle with a 192cc engine and a 4-speed, dual range gearbox that produced more power, compared to its utility model counterpart. This exact model was enhanced with a reverse gear and new drive chain for added durability in 1984.
From 1980s onwards, Honda ATVs are used for racing everywhere from desert roads to frozen lakes all over America. Since Honda has been renowned for its high-performance vehicles that are fit for racing, their ATVs are no different.
Shortly after the success of the three wheeled sports and utility ATV models, Honda as well as many other manufacturers of all-terrain vehicles stopped production of three wheeled ATVs. In its place, they released for production an improved version in four wheels, giving a more powerful engine and better suspension.
Honda ATVs have the reputation of revolutionizing the world of all-terrain vehicles for both utility and sports purposes. Famous models released from Honda include the 1988 FourTrax 300, a four-wheel TRX200, the 1995 Foreman 400 and a dozen more of high-performance vehicles for the off-road world.
