A GEELONG West truck driver walked away unharmed after the tip truck he was driving overturned yesterday.

Police said the 38-year-old male was travelling east along Portarlington Rd in Moolap about 12.35pm when the truck left the road.

Senior Constable Darren Mighall, of Geelong police, said an entire load of sand spilled from two trailers.

No other vehicles were in the path of the oncoming trailer.

The driver suffered a sore leg but did not require an ambulance, he said.

Sen-Constable Mighall said the investigation would continue, but speed or alcohol were not involved in the accident. The clean-up operation lasted well into the afternoon, with the vehicle towed away.
